Kyocera has introduced the PR20 Series insert coating technology for indexable grooving tools, designed specifically for machining steel, stainless steel, and cast iron.

Featuring Kyocera’s proprietary MEGACOAT NANO EX coating technology, this next-generation PVD coating performs well across various grooving applications. MEGACOAT NANO EX is engineered with high-content aluminum nano layers, providing stable high-temperature hardness and good wear and oxidation resistance. These attributes translate to significantly enhanced tool life and reliability, even under the most demanding machining conditions.

Currently available for Kyocera’s popular GBA external and SIGE internal grooving systems, the new PR20 Series ensures precision and longevity in every cut. The innovative multi-layered structure of MEGACOAT NANO EX not only increases the durability of the inserts but also maintains strong cutting performance throughout extended use. By optimizing the balance between hardness and toughness, these new grades set a new standard across a variety of grooving operations, helping machinists achieve consistent, high-quality results while reducing tool changeovers and downtime.
