To develop dynamic energy systems with rapid power electronics circuitry as used in the e-mobility, aviation, aerospace, and railway industries, control developers and test engineers require high-precision real-time simulations. With XSG Power Electronics Systems (XSG PES), dSPACE is one of the first suppliers worldwide to now offer simulation software that supports the simulation of highly dynamic switching frequencies of up to 500kHz.

The software for hardware-in-the-loop tests contains a library with ready-to-use models of power electronics circuitry so that users can create their power electronics simulations quickly and easily. "With XSG Power Electronics Systems, we support the development of the most advanced power converters, which are becoming ever smaller, faster, and more powerful," explains Julian Saele, product manager e-mobility at dSPACE.

XSG PES supports highly dynamic circuitry simulation based on wide-bandgap semiconductors such as silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN), enables fault simulation in semiconductors and circuitry, making it possible to generate easily reproducible results and to test thermal overload or arcing without risks, and is user-friendly: The XSG library with its familiar look & feel can be easily combined with other dSPACE tools.
