Schneider Electric has launched the new ultra-compact Lexium Scara (Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm), a high-speed industrial robot, part of its industrial automation portfolio.

Deployable across several industries including battery manufacturing, electronics, warehousing, and consumer packaging goods, the Lexium Scara offers quick and accurate movements. This makes it suitable for use in manufacturing and assembly processes including machine loading and unloading, pick-and-place, packaging, and material handling applications.

Forty percent smaller in size than other robots in the same category, it is a cost-effective operation that optimizes floor space utilization, automating repetitive tasks to drive production line efficiency.

Fully able to integrate with a unified control system, when combined with Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Machine Expert Twin digital twin solution, it can also be virtually designed and tested prior to implementation, helping to reduce CAPEX and OPEX costs and prevent project scheduling issues and budget overruns.

Key features of the Lexium Scara Robot include:

  • Maximum work area with smallest footprint: the Lexium Scara boasts one of the largest work areas (40% longer z-arm stroke than other products in its class on the market) within the smallest Scara robot footprint available (40% smaller than other products in its class on the market). These ultra-compact robots maximize valuable floor space and minimize mounting space and electrical cabinet while offering high speed and accuracy. It can lead to cost savings and minimizing the need for expensive facility modifications.
  • Simple compact all-in-one solution: with integrated motors and a built-in controller, the Lexium Scara simplifies installation, reduces wiring, saves space, and improves performance due to shorter cable runs. Additionally, it simplifies integration without requiring specialized robotics knowledge, allowing operators to change settings easily.
  • Fully seamless integration, easy multi-robot orchestration: the Lexium Scara seamlessly integrates into a unified control system, encompassing a range of smart automation products such as Delta, Cartesian, and Scara robotic solutions, along with high-precision motors and advanced control algorithms, all of which enable precise tracking mechanisms and facilitate multi robots' orchestration. With a digital twin at the core, robotic systems can be virtually designed and tested before real-world implementation.
  • Easy upgrade to IP65 with accessories: upgrade your Scara robot with specific accessory kits to easily maintain its IP65 protection, offering flexibility and cost efficiency. This adaptability allows the robot to be tailored to various working conditions without the need to initially purchase a separate IP65 version, potentially reducing upfront costs.
  • Robust support ecosystem: ensure optimal performance of your Lexium Robots including Scara with a comprehensive service contract. Minimize unexpected downtime to maintain peak productivity. Gain peace of mind with access to skilled service technicians and spare parts worldwide, precisely when and where you need them. Schneider’s support offering encompasses preventive maintenance, on-site support, remote technical assistance, spare parts management, extended warranty, and training programs.
