Point S
Point S, the world’s largest multi-brand automotive services and tire sales franchise, underlined its ambition to become the largest qualified and certified European network for electric vehicle maintenance by the end of 2026.
The network has officially been recognized by the UK’s foremost professional automotive association, the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), as an Approved Training Centre.
Gaining Approved Training Centre status demonstrates that Point S’s training program meets the strict criteria and high standards of the IMI, placing the network amongst an elite group of training providers in the UK.
“We are determined to accelerate the qualification of our network for EV maintenance with common standards and certification across Europe,” says Fabien Bouquet, Point S Global CEO. “We already have close to 400 points of sale equipped for EV maintenance and we aim to triple this number by the end of 2026. Achieving recognition as an IMI Approved Training Centre in the UK is a significant step in the right direction. Our priority is to provide Point S members with bespoke training programs that will equip them with the skills and knowledge required to service modern vehicles and systems with confidence. This stems from our ambition to futureproof the business of every member in our network.”
The foundations for Point S’s EV training ambitions with the appointment of Jon Taylor as the Point S UK and European Training Manager in 2022. Taylor is responsible for researching, managing, and overseeing a market-leading training program for members of the Point S network in the UK and across Europe.
“I’m extremely proud of the progress that we have made in a relatively short space of time. Building a comprehensive training offering needs to be done methodically, and being recognized by the IMI shows that we are on the right track,” says Jon Taylor, Point S UK and European Training Manager. “Now we must continue to put the building blocks in place to achieve our goals on a European scale.”
