About the presentation
Many manufacturers have made improvements to machine programing, cutter design to optimize speed, fixturing design, robotic interface for part loading and stock loading. In many cases, the next step in production is often neglected – the deburring and or polishing operation. This is essential to make a product functional or aesthetically acceptable.
More often than not, you can find a manufacturing cell with the most sophisticated machining process – finish a product with the least sophisticated hand deburring or polishing station. Manufactures are finding bottlenecks, not in production speeds but in final post machining processing. In 2024, quality labor is harder to come by than ever before and the skill needed is vanishing from the work place. Integration of newly developed, automated mass finishing operations within the machining process is a key improvement. The attendees will walk away with a virtual tool belt of solutions to lean out this very important manufacturing step.
We will touch on five keynote solutions across a few industries and how the automation of deburring has:
- improved production throughput and efficiency
- improved product quality and reduced rejection rate
- cost savings and logistical improvements
We elaborate on the process before, the development, the final solution, and how the end user can work through this same process to automate their post machining operations.
