Join us for April’s Manufacturing Lunch + Learntaking place Thursday April 17 at 12PM ET, and gain valuable information from two respected companies in machining and metalworking during two 30-minute lunchtime sessions. First you’ll hear from ISCAR, the largest of the 15 companies comprising the International Metalworking Companies Group (IMC), which supplies precision carbide metalworking tools to industries such as aerospace, automotive, and mold & die production. In this session, Robert Navarrete, national product manager for turning, will discuss the cutting tool applications of advanced materials polycrystalline diamond (PCD), cubic boron nitride (CBN), and ceramics. Learn how their durability, precision, and efficiency are impacting numerous industries, as well as innovative techniques for their use.

Next up will be INSACO, a precision machining and polishing fabricator of parts from all technical ceramics, sapphire, glass, and quartz. INSACO’s customers often require parts from these ultra-hard materials in extremely tight tolerances, and in the second half hour Scott Mittl, vice president of sales, will expand on hard materials as well as the possibilities offered by internal threading as an alternative to traditional joining methods. Details will include a look at applications in medical manufacturing as well as those requiring vacuums and high temperatures.
