Two smaller sizes of EWN Smart Damper precision boring heads are available in diameters from 0.787" to 1.260", eliminating vibration in deep-hole finish boring. The CK1 head has a length of 3.937", and the CK2 4.921".
The modular CK/CKB system allows for versatile tooling length combinations, up to a maximum of 10xD and can run on nearly every major spindle interface. All tools are coolant-through and have three different insert holder options per head size.
The integral design of the Smart Damper heads shortens the distance from the damping mechanism to the cutting edge, which is the source of vibration. This produces higher damping effects to the tool assembly to minimize chatter or vibration, thus achieving better surface finishes and improved metal removal rates.

Switch lubricant
LOX-8 grease extends the operating life of a toggle valve by 26x. A company recently tested the lubricant, replacing a silicon-based material. They boosted valve lifetime from 30,000 cycles to 800,000 cycles with the silicon material. Even after adding iron oxide debris into the toggle valve, LOX-8 still performed up to 800,000 cycles.
LOX-8 is a PTFE lubricant and NLGI 1 grease, used in environments where extended service life is important. Use when greasing oxygen service bearings, valves, O-rings, pumps, and regulators.

Pinch/peel grinder
The ShapeSmart NP30 pinch/peel grinder replaces the NP3+ model. Pinch grinding o?ers high concentricity, particularly on long and thin parts. Rough and ?nish grinding are performed in one pass, which simultaneously eliminates a separate process and reduces cycle time. The machine uses two di?erent grinding wheels running on separate spindles and positioned on independently controlled CNC linear slides.
Both grinding spindles are synchronous direct drives with 19hp peak power, providing constant speed during operation and a highly efficient torque curve. The rotational force isn’t reduced with higher rpms. Synchronous motors always run at a speed equal to their synchronous speed, as opposed to asynchronous motors (induction motors) which have a lag and are less e?cient.

End-effector kits
CRX-ready end-effector kits provide Fanuc CRX cobot users a simple way to increase the flexibility of collaborative robotic automation. All-in-one packages include options for automatic tool changing, force sensing, and material removal, and enable tasks such as assembly, machine tending, part inspection, surface preparation, and others easily implemented and executed.
CRX-ready end-effector kits include the hardware and software required for system connection. Within the teach pendant are simple controls to program the equipment and simplify complex tasks, and through a few programming adjustments the end-effectors can be easily repurposed and adapted for future applications.
